I’m not the first person to say this, but I just want to do my part. Chicago Red Stars… BRING THE (alleged) DIANA TAURASI BROKEN DOOR TO THE NWSL CHAMPIONSHIP.

You don’t have to place  it in plain sight (in case Saturday doesn’t go as planned), but just have it accessible. What’s another major women’s sports championship win for the city of Chicago without it?

To catch anyone up here: the Chicago Sky WNBA team won its first-ever title last month over legendary PG Taurasi’s Phoenix Mercury. After the final game in the series, the league’s most prolific-ever scorer (again, allegedly) slammed and broke the locker room door at Wintrust Arena. It quickly became a symbol for the team’s win and it even made a special appearance at the Sky’s championship parade.

So let’s keep this momentum rolling, Chicago. Give us a Red Stars photoshoot, with trophy in hand, in front of the slab of cracked wood. Pour champagne on the door. Dance alongside it. Meme it. Bring the memorabilia piece into an even deeper lore.

Don’t hold your breath, but the Red Stars have already acknowledged this possibility via Twitter thanks to Gal Pal Sports’ Emily Anderson. Now, we wait.
