We're nine games into the season and we've seen each team play at least once. Things are... about what we thought?
The Aces are the real deal, demolishing the Storm by 41 points. The Liberty looked flustered in their opening game, but got on track quickly at home in their second. The Mystics and Sun are, indeed, a problem.
Let's get right to it.
Week in review: W vs. Storm
I mean, yeah.
Week in review: W vs. Fever, W vs. Mystics
Nobody should be surprised the Sun look like a complete team from the jump. Even without Jonquel Jones, Connecticut's core knows how to play together. Mystics, Aces and Liberty, beware.
Week in review: W vs. Liberty, L vs. Sun
That win over the Liberty was a treat. D.C. looked championship levels of locked in. Of course, until they played the Sun. There's work to be done, but Mystics fans should be thrilled at what they're seeing, especially with Shakira Austin's development.
Week in review: L vs. Mystics, W vs. Fever
Mystics game: very bad. Fever game: laughably good. In reality, they're probably somewhere in the middle, and that's expected for a brand new team.
Week in review: W vs. Lynx, W vs. Mercury
Kahleah. Copper. A pair of wins over Minny and Phoenix is a great start for the new-look Sky.
Week in review: W vs. Dream
If Satou Sabally plays like she did in her season debut, the Wings could be on the verge of something special.
Week in review: L vs. Wings
I'm not looking too much into an early loss to what should be a playoff Wings team. I'll leave it there.
Week in review: W vs. Mercury
The Mercury are lacking... a lot of pieces. The win feels good but I'm not ready to make any big-time statements just yet.
Week in review: L vs. Sparks, L vs. Sky
Put frankly: this team is lacking depth. Brittney Griner looked fantastic, but Diana Taurasi's not the same Diana Taurasi of the past. If Phoenix can't find ways to add depth... it could be a tough year.
Week in review: L vs. Sky
I will not read too much into one game! But three points in the third quarter? THREE!?
Week in review: L vs. Aces
:(
It's gonna be a journey in the post-Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird years.
Week in review: L vs. Sun, L vs. Liberty
They don't look good. We knew they wouldn't look that good. At least Aliyah Boston looks good.
