Let’s root for the underdogbirds

We, as a basketball-watching community, are blessed this March Madness season with a record-setting amount of double-digit seeds on both the men’s and women’s sides advancing to the Sweet 16!!
On the men’s side, four such teams advanced including No. 10 Miami, No. 11 Michigan and No. 11 Iowa State, and on the women’s side, two teams are through, including No. 10 South Dakota.
But we’re here to cheer on two of the most CHAOTIC bracket-busters of them all: No. 15 Saint Peter’s men and No. 10 Creighton women — our underdog bird mascot teams.
The Peacocks are flat-out UNREAL. This team has both no and every amount of business being here. On the one hand, they’ve lost to St. Francis NY, Siena (twice), Stony Brook, Canisius and Rider this season. And on the other, they’ve toppled a Kentucky team whose coach earns five times their programs’ basketball revenue in any given year (!!)
I mean, we’re talking about a team whose center, KC Ndefo, was assumed to be transferring last summer. And their guard, Doug Edert, has now signed an NIL deal with Buffalo Wild Wings despite being the no-name team’s third-leading scorer this season. We’re living in the upside down 🙃
The biggest storybook ending of the tourney so far belongs to Creighton’s Lauren Jensen, though. The sharpshooter hit the game-winning shot to upset No. 2 Iowa, the team she’d transferred from a year ago due to a lack of playing time. Take THAT!
Our Bet of the Day is a prop on the Saint Peter’s men and Creighton women to combine for 10 or more 3-point shots tonight. It’ll be a tough task for the Peacocks against No. 4 Purdue and the Bluejays against No. 3 Iowa State…
However…
