The No. 13 Vermont Catamounts may be named after a newly-extinct cougar-esque cat, but their men’s hoops team is as fresh and modern as they come, making for a prime upset pick in Thursday night’s game against the No. 4 Arkansas Razorbacks. Take that, one-semester transfer Ben Affleck.

Sure, Arkansas will be the toughest team Vermont’s faced all season, but with walk-on-turned-star Ben Shungu as the heart and soul of this group with 16.1 points per game on 41.4% 3-point shooting, the Catamounts could be this year’s Cinderella team.

One thing’s for sure: they have the winning formula. With 43.1% of all of their field goal attempts coming from 3-point territory (No. 54 in the nation), and 36.8% of those looks going in, if UVM pulls it off, it’ll likely be at the hands of a long distance barrage 💥

That’s why our Bet of the Day is a prop for the Catamounts to make more 3-point shots than the Razorbacks

If Vermont makes true on our wager, you’ll have a chance to win a $32 gift card to Homefield’s vintage collegiate apparel. Maybe to buy this super trendy, vintage Catamount tee.

🥳 Betting on Vermont is fun because…

  • This is just their eighth tournament appearance and they’ve won just one game (2005)
  • Redshirt senior Ben Shungu (their best player) is a homegrown star and two-time Mr. Basketball selection in Vermont
  • They seriously LAUNCH 3s. In their season opener, they took 33 of them

🧐 Betting on Vermont is smart because…

  • At 28-5, they’ve lost only one game in all of 2022 — and that came in overtime by one point
  • They won their conference championship game vs. UMBC by 39 points, the most in America East history!
  • Arkansas stinks at 3-point buckets. The Razorbacks make just 30.7% of their shots from distance, which ranks No. 313 in the country!
