The 25 best players of the WNBA playoffs, ranked

This post can serve as a cheat sheet for anyone new just getting started with the W in these playoffs. (Heck, come join, games are on an ESPN channel!) But it can also be a little spicy blog for ranking the best players left competing.

A quick note before we get rolling: Skylar Diggins-Smith, Diana Taurasi, Dearica Hamby and Arike Ogunbowale were not included in these rankings due to their not playing in the first round (injury, personal reasons).

Ok here we go:

1. A’ja Wilson, Aces

The 2020 MVP is a favorite to win again. Wilson’s the player to stop.

2. Breanna Stewart, Storm

Wilson’s biggest competitor for the MVP trophy had another eye-opening season as one of the league’s best two-way threats.

3. Kelsey Plum, Aces

Her emergence is for real. She is the most lethal shooting threat the league has to offer.

4. Alyssa Thomas, Sun

A wrecking ball of a defensive stalwart able to do a bit of everything extremely well.

5. Candace Parker, Sky

One of the game’s greatest legends still playing leads everything the defending champs do on both ends of the court.

6. Jonquel Jones, Sun

Last year’s MVP is a Defensive Player of the Year hopeful and 6’6 sharpshooter.

7. Elena Delle Donne, Mystics

The 2019 MVP who put up the first 50/40/90 shooting season in W history is finally going to be able to let loose without minutes/game restrictions.

8. Chelsea Gray, Aces

Potentially the most terrifying clutch scorer on the planet.

9. Jewell Loyd, Storm

A distance-shooting savant who can torch your defense in minutes.

10. Kahleah Copper, Sky

Last year’s Finals MVP is a one-of-a-kind athlete whose explosion leads to unstoppable buckets around the rim.

And here’s everyone else:

11. Jackie Young, Aces

12. Courtney Vandersloot, Sky

13. Sabrina Ionescu, Liberty

14. Emma Meesseman, Sky

15. Brionna Jones, Sun

16. Ariel Atkins, Mystics

17. Natasha Howard, Liberty

18. Tina Charles, Storm

19. Natasha Cloud, Mystics

20. DeWanna Bonner, Sun

21. Teaira McCowan, Wings

22. Ezi Magbegor, Storm

23. Allisha Gray, Wings
