Maddy Siegrist is a bucket as indicated by her 50-point game this year and the fact that she led all of Division 1 (men’s and women’s) in scoring at 29.2 points per game. Put simply: Siergiest knows how to score in the mid-range, and is super solid from the 3-point line as well. She also rarely makes mistakes, turning the ball over just 1.4 times despite averaging 21.4 shots per game!
That's why the Dallas Wings selected her No. 3 overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft.
The questions for Villanova’s all-time leading scorer is how her methods of bucket-getting will translate at the next level. She stands 6-foot-2, but doesn’t have elite athleticism, and she’ll see much bigger defenders at the next level. Still, it’s easy to see a path for Siegrist to make an impact in the W.
Maddy Siegrist’s ceiling: All-Star
Maddy Siegrist’s final season by the numbers: 29.2 points per game, 51.0% FG, 9.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.2 blocks,1.4 turnovers, 36.1 3-point, 85.8 FT%
Siegrist’s scoring abilities feel too strong for her to not stick in the WNBA. There are a lot of questions about if she can do everything else well enough to stay on the court — and if she can still be a plus player in a very reduced role — but at her best, Siegrist can be a team’s sharpshooter.
