Week 5 in CFB separated the good from the great, and one team is right there with Bama. Georgia’s 37-0 rout over No. 11 Arkansas means the Bulldogs have scored 99 points unanswered the last two weeks. They’re for REAL.
Georgia’s rise is a welcome arrival for Tide supporters looking to cash in late. The Bulldog’s odds of taking the CFB championship took another huge leap to +102 (bet $100 to win $102). The team was +200 ahead of Week 1.
Naturally, as a competitor entered the ring, the market fluctuated, moving Alabama’s odds to -123 (bet $123 to win $100). Bama sat -163 before Week 1, and despite holding an undefeated 5-0 record, has seen its odds lowered.
Make no mistake, though. This team is a machine. The Tide have gained 400-plus yards of total offense and forced at least one turnover in every game this season. Alabama hasn’t trailed a team at any point in its past 57 quarters of play, the longest streak by any FBS team since 1950.
If you’re interested in making a wager on the winners of six of the last 12 titles to do it again, now’s a good time to consider placing a prop bet.
