There's been a lot of discussion on Steelers RB Najee Harris this season. Most of it has been, well, not great Bob! As rookie Jaylen Warren continues to outperform the 2021 first-round pick, there's been a lot of speculation on whether or not Harris could be benched sooner rather than later.

There have been 47 running backs to see 50 or more carries on the year, heading into Week 10. The only one averaging fewer yards per attempt is Cam Akers (2.9 yards per carry). Among the 22 running backs to have at least 100 carries or more this season, Harris ranks dead-last in with 361 rush yards while also ranking bottom five in yards after contact per attempt and explosive runs of 10+ yards. It's not pretty.

Despite Najee's poor performance this season, it should be noted that HC Mike Tomlin has the patience of a saint. OC running a bottom-tier offense for three-straight seasons? No plans to make a change. Rookie quarterback throwing for a 4.8% interception rate? He's "playing to win!"

Tomlin's history gives us plenty of reasons to think he'll be overly patient with Harris too. But maybe, just maybe, Harris should be on your fantasy benches — even if he's not on the Steelers' bench just yet.

Steelers stat munchies

  • Their 2-6 record has them set for the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft heading into Week 10, per Tankathon.

  • The Steelers are the only team that hasn't scored a touchdown from inside the red zone yet this season.
