In case you missed it (you probably didn't): (my vote for) the best quarterback in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes, suffered a high ankle sprain against the Jaguars in the Divisional Round.
Despite the really gross-looking injury and the fact that he headed to the locker room for further evaluation, he came out in the second half looking... mostly totally fine.
The NFL Twitter account showed this video, mostly highlighting the pain it seems Mahomes was playing through, but also just how eager he was to get back on the field.
I say this as I am currently bunkered down in my closet amidst a huge tornado in southeast Houston. Bad weather is scary.
Mahomes is well-documented to be way too obsessed with ketchup. He ruins his thanksgiving meals with it. He used to eat ketchup sandwiches, for crying out loud. I have to imagine that if his favorite condiment were in need, he'd step up. He's just that kind of guy.
Did you know he was a part-owner of the Kansas City Royals? I didn't either. It sounds pretty important, though!
I'm not saying Patrick Mahomes will be at 100% (or anywhere near it, for that matter)... but it does seem that unless his ankle is close to falling off, he'll be out there, ready to ride or die with the Chiefs in hopes of another Super Bowl run.
That's it. End of list.
