The San Francisco 49ers are good—great, even.
But they are also beatable, specifically in an area where Philadelphia thrives: The passing game.
San Francisco ranked in the bottom 10 in the league this season in yards, receptions and total fantasy points allowed versus wide recievers. Just a cursory glance at how elite receivers have performed while playing SF in recent contests is pretty eye-popping.
Last week, Ceedee Lamb had 117 yards in the Cowboys' loss to SF. The week before, DK Metcalf went for 136 yards and two touchdowns. And in their regular season finale, the 49ers allowed 91 yards to AJ Green, even though he only has 236 total receiving yards on the season. Given these trends and the fact that the Eagles have two elite receivers in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, it seems plausible that Philly might have some success leaning on the passing game.
FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists Brown and Smith’s receiving yards total at 70.5 and 66.5 respectively. I would feel pretty good taking the over for either of these totals, but if you’re feeling cheeky consider taking either player to go over 100 yards in the game for some extra cheddar—Brown is listed at +250 (wager $10 to win $25) to do so and Smith is listed at +320 (wager $10 to win $32).
In conclusion, PASS, EAGLES, PASS! 🦅
