This isn’t a phrase uttered often, but it’s a rough season to be a Steelers fan.
After being spoiled by more than a decade of potent offenses led by future hall-of-fame players, the Steelers now have one of the five worst offenses in the league. And while there’s reason for optimism about the future of first-round pick Kenny Pickett, his 2 touchdown-to-8 interception clip doesn’t so much make one recall the glory days with Big Ben.
The defense has looked good in spots, particularly during last week’s victory over the Saints. Luckily, Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will return following a bout with — an integral part of Pittsburgh secondary that has bailed them out time and time again with well-timed takeaways.
Still, the Bengals represent a different kind of challenge entirely. While they’re still without star wideout Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati should be well rested coming off a bye week and still have one of the most explosive offenses in the league.
If the Bengals are able to put up a lot of points, it’s likely Pittsburgh won’t be able to keep up.
