The people demand more Tony Pollard

When the Cowboys play the Giants on Thanksgiving Day, NFL fans will be treated to a matchup between two of the best running backs in the NFL.

I’m of course talking about Saquon Barkley and Cowboys “backup” Tony Pollard, who is leading Dallas in rushing yards and averaging two more yards per carry than Zeke Elliot (3.9 for Zeke to Pollard’s 5.9).

With Dak Prescott now looking 100% healthy, the Cowboys fully weaponized offense has looked nothing short of dominant — in no small part because of Pollard’s exploits as a runner and pass catcher. Last week in Zeke’s return from injury, Pollard racked up 119 yards receiving and 2 TDs on in addition to his team-leading 80 rushing yards.

Dallas faces one of its toughest challenges of the season when the Giants come to town on Thanksgiving. While New York boasts an identical 7-3 record to the Cowboys, the advanced analytics aren’t quite as bullish on the G-Men. New York is in the bottom third of the league in rushing defense.

With those ingredients at their disposal, a heavy dose of Tony Pollard sounds like a good recipe for a Cowboys win.
