Raiders fans, welcome to Potential City. Tyree Wilson is a gigantic human who can become a nightmare for opposing offensive lineman should he continue to grow his game. He is undeniably a talent but will need a solid coach/foundation to reach his true ceiling. Why was he drafted this high if he's not necessarily in his final Super Saiyan Form? Because, if unlocked, the dude could be a Hall of Famer.

Tyree Wilson scouting report

  • Position: EDGE

  • School: Texas Tech (R-Sr)

  • Measurables: 6'6, 271 lbs

  • Combine notes: 23 bench press reps at NFL Combine, did not run the 40.

  • Where he wins: Explosive power and elite wingspan. Destroys edge runs.

  • Areas for improvement: Not the fastest nor the quickest.

A first-team All-Big 12 and first-team All-American selection in 2022 even though he played in just ten games. At the time of his season-ending foot injury, he had already surpassed his sack and TFL totals from the year prior. Did not participate in many drills at the combine due to this foot injury but he did throw his weight around on the bench press which was pretty impressive for a dude with his wingspan.

Obligatory Tyree Wilson Highlight Reel

3 facts you probably didn't know about Tyree Wilson

  • His arms are one inch shorter than Giannis Antetokounmpo's. No, seriously. Giannis has an 87-inch wingspan, and Tyree was measured at 86 inches. Ridiculous.

  • A country guy through and through. Easygoing, hard-working, and likes to ride some horses in his downtime. Pray for the horse...

  • He may or may not know what a push-up is.

How does Tyree Wilson fit in with the Raiders

Tyree Wilson has monstrous upside and now gets to line up opposite Maxx Crosby. It's a solid move for this squad, who has some nice pieces on offense but certainly needs to find ways to attack opposing quarterbacks... especially considering their position in the AFC West. Wilson will be a nice asset that could haunt Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert and Russell Wilson for years to come.
