No, it’s not Taylor Swift despite rumors. Instead, Rihanna is making her music comeback tour with a Super Bowl spotlight. The singer, who hasn’t been featured on a song since 2020 or released an album since 2016’s Anti, confirmed as much on social media posts on Sunday

Questions are abundant. Will she release new music ahead of the game? If so, will it be her ninth studio album which fans have dubbed “R9”? Will it be a reggae album as she said in 2019? It’s been so long, does she remember her own lyrics? (LOL of course she does, but the last time the Fenty billionaire showcased her talent on a national scale was at the Grammy’s in 2018 alongside DJ Khaled for “Wild Thoughts.”) We’ve been ready for her return.

Rihanna, a bold LeBron James fan, is making a heavily anticipated return to the sports scene as well. The 2023 Super Bowl prop bets should be as interesting as ever. Sure we’ll have bets on what her first song will be — “What’s My Name” featuring Drake could be a favorite — but even more interesting could be featured guest bets (hello A$AP Rocky, and also Tom Holland dancing to Umbrella) and quantity of songs (hey there, 14 No. 1 hits). A Fenty product placement could even be too obvious.

A Rihanna Super Bowl should have a bit for everyone. Some nostalgia. Hopefully, some new bops. It’s Rihanna we’re talking about after all.
